I read Firefly Lane back in high school and remember being really attached to it. What I liked most was the long timeline of the friendship, seeing the characters grow up, change, hurt each other, come back to each other, and carry all that history with them. I like books where friendship feels as important and complicated as romance or family.
Does anyone have recommendations for books with a similar focus on deep, emotional friendship?

I’ve never read firefly lane so I don’t know if it’s similar, but the Neapolitan novels by Elena ferrante are a great female friendship story. The first book in the series is My Brilliant Friend. It follows the main characters’ friendship throughout their whole lives.
The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo by Taylor Jenkins Reid
