Villain protagonist book recommendations

Hi, I want books recommendations on How to create a villain who serves as the main character and protagonist of my story one day.

I want to build the entire story around him.

Villains as MCs or in general are so hard to write about for me personally.

My goal is to create a comic with a villain leading an army of evil.

With genres: dark science fiction/military/vampires for mature readers someday.

So are there any books you’d recommend on writing a villain protagonist?

It could be on how to write villain guidebooks. Or it could be a novel/comic series I could learn from.

I just need a books to get me started writing.
