I used to be a voracious reader as a kid but for the past 6 years I've only managed about one book a year. The books that have kept me going were American Gods, Norse Mythology, Good Omens, Metamorphosis, No Longer Human, 1984, and the first two LOTR books.

I have been for the past year and a half in a more philosophical zone. Because the books I got were 2 from Nietzsche, The Stranger, Crime and Punishment, Metamorphosis, The Creative Act (Rick Rubin) and White Nights.

And while I don't regret it and I wished I could stay in that zone a little longer, it doesn't feel right with me anymore and I miss reading a good fat chunky fantasy book like LOTR or a serious dystopian book that isn't YA, something like 1984, or a classic like Grapes of Wrath or my favourite Steinbeck, The Pearl. I miss reading something that won't leave me with existential dread or feeling depressed like No Longer Human. I miss reading something more whimsical, mystical and mythological like American Gods, Norse Mythology and Good Omens. But that's also serious.

So please suggest me something that would ease me back into reading regularly.
