looking for a fiction story that feels hopeful, light, and inspiring. a lot of those tiktok “hopecore” videos kinda describe the vibe i’m going for. i’m not looking for a romance love story, but more so a story that has a hidden meaning that reminds you to be more appreciative.
i read “eleanor oliphant is completely fine” which somewhat fits that vibe, but it’s definitely darker than what im going for right now. i liked the simplicity and basic story following writing of that book, and the constant reminder to love what you already have
thank you 🙂

Anything by Becky Chambers. Monk and Robot series or Wayfarer series.
Fredrik Backman has a lot of this — A Man called Ove, My Grandmother Asked Me to Tell You She’s Sorry. They are sweet stories, tinged with a little sadness, but ultimately, very hopeful.
Theo of Golden is a more recent book aboit an old man who comes to a small town and becomes a part of the community.
Much sadder, but aligned to the message you are looking for (reminder to be appreciative) is a Lesson Before Dying, about a falsely convicted Black man on death row, and what he learns and teaches a young teacher. Phenomenal book.
