I'm looking for books where we follow the sidekick to the main "hero" of the world.
Something akin to how in the game KCD2 you play as Henry, a squire to a noble lord who is important in the world. You're basically the man behind the scenes of most of the events of the world, doing the grunt work for your lord.
Another example is Mike and Harvey in the show Suits where you follow Mike as he defrauds his way through the american legal system as Harvey's personal associate.
I am looking for something similar to this dynamic where the protagonnist is a secondary character in the world.
Added bonus if they have a good and whitty rapport between them.

The Enders Game series has a pretty good adjacent series of books (the Shadow series, starting with Ender’s Shadow) that follows Ender’s sidekick/friend.
