Hello. I recently finished my Bachelor's Degree and would like to spend some of my newfound free time reading. In my experience the narratives that have entranced me the most are those about exploring a wide variety of people and getting to understand why they view the world in a certain way. For reference, my favorite book is The Songlines by Bruce Chatwin and my favorite of media is Disco Elysium. I love having the opportunity to understand why different people operate differently in the world, both in fiction and reality, as a Sociology student and overall Wikipedia-brained individual, and I'm sure that a book that does that is one that I'll find difficult to put down.
Thanks in advance for the recommendations!

These are just three quite random suggestions from the books I’ve read somewhat recently, but The Bee Sting by Paul Murray, The Morning Star (and its sequels) by Karl Ove Knausgard, and Playground by Richard Powers all have a bigger cast of characters, all of whom you actually get to see the ‘inner workings’/worldview of! They’re all quite long, but imo all really fascinating & excellent at showcasing a whole range of lives, motivations, struggles, beliefs etc.
