It seems difficult to find the specific type of weird, drifting adventure novel I love. I know someone in the past referred to the genre as "Alice-in-Wonderland-For-Adults".
Some novels I've read that fill this niche pretty well and/or expect to be recc'd and I'm trying to get out in front of that:
- Piranesi, Susanna Clarke (Loved it!)
- A Short Stay in Hell, Stephen Peck (Loved it!)
- The Mad Sisters of Esi, Tashan Mehta (Deeply disliked, awful prose)
- Reincarnations Blues, Michael Poore (Loved it!)
Novels I am planning on reading that seem like possible fits:
- Night Train, David Quantick
- The Library at Mount Char, Scott Hawkins
- The Talisman, Stephen King
Thanks for any suggestions!
