Just read the dumpster fire that is “You Shouldn’t Have Come Here” which was recommended to me by a friend (never trusting her for book recs again). So, I figured I would try Reddit for some suggestions instead.

Gone girl by Gillian Flynn
The Martian by Andy Weir
The Magpies by Mark Edwards. He has a few follow up books to The Magpies, but this is definitely the best!
For something darkly funny: Too Old for This by Samantha Downing
Gillian Flynn’s Sharp Objects is another of her books that really messes with you in the best way. If you liked Gone Girl, this one’s just as gripping but with a different kind of tension.
