As the title suggests, I’ve had a hard time continuing to read books and have noticed I need to train my reading abilities to tackle more challenging texts. I’m majoring in psychology and philosophy but haven’t read any classics in years and struggle to stay focused while reading. I started *1984* by George Orwell and *The Souls of Black Folk* by W.E.B. Du Bois, but unfortunately didn’t manage to continue with either..
So, could you recommend some easy reads to help me get back into reading and build a habit? I’m interested in psychology and philosophy, but I find it hard to focus on these subjects as most books use specific terms that catch me off guard and loses my focus. I also enjoy murder mysteries, thrillers (leaning towards horror), and romance books. Last fiction book I read was *Slade House* by David Mitchell which I really enjoyed.
