Hi, I’m currently doing research for a screenplay set in the 60’s in California.
One of the characters is a rebellious school-girl, who leaves high school to join a proto-hippie group along the lines of Ken Kesey’a Merry Pranksters.
I’m looking for non-fiction books (diaries, reportage) with protagonists who would fit that description, preferably upper-class. I’d much prefer books written by women, but that is not a requirement 🙂
