    With 2024 drawing closer, I thought it would be a nice idea to share some reddit reading groups that focus on reading the classics. (Apologies if this post is not allowed, but as the main mod over at r/ayearofbookhub I just wanted to highlight these groups.)

    If you are interested in reading the classics and would like to join a book club that specializes in that, then please check out these wonderful bookish communities below. Most of the groups read a chapter or two per week for most of the year, while some go further and read a chapter a day. Most of the groups also post regular discussion posts to talk about the texts in-depth.

    Alternatively, some groups are still looking for mods to lead the readings in 2024. I’ll also include them below.

    **Subreddits with 2024 readings:**\-

    * r/ayearofmiddlemarch
    * r/AYearOfMythology \- starting with Hamilton’s ‘The Greek Way’ and then Hesiod’s ‘Theogony’ & ‘Works and Days’
    * r/ClassicBookClub \- books are voted on and read on a rolling schedule, so check out the sub for more info
    * r/ayearoflupinn
    * r/ayearofwarandpeace
    * r/yearofdonquixote
    * r/AReadingOfMonteCristo
    * r/greatbooksclub are doing a 10 year book club to read some of the greatest books of all time.

    If you are interested in any of the above, please check out the individual subreddit for more details on schedule etc.

    **’Adoptable’ – Subreddits that are interested in doing 2024 readings but need moderators to run them:**\-

    * r/AYearOfLesMiserables
    * r/yearofannakarenina
    * r/YearOfShakespeare
