I’m a big fan of the Portal games and love the cold and lonely machine controlled world the first game built. How you play as a singular lone individual trapped in a facility that’s now under the control of a rogue artificial intellegence with no way to contact the outside world. I’d really love to find a book that captures that quiet loneliness and horror of machines.

A short story: I Have No Mouth and I Must Scream. It was also adapted into a video game, but it’s super old and not much like Portal, I think it’s a point and click 2D game.
Not about AI but it captures the loneliness and horror of the other: Blindsight by Peter Watts. Available on the author’s website as a free ebook.
