I just recently got into reading, the books I’ve read so far are Vineland, Crying of Lot 49, and now I’ve just finished Infinite Jest. I’ll probably have to take a break from DFW for a while, I’ll check out his other stuff & Pale King at some point, but next I’m thinking Inherent Vice or Gravity’s Rainbow. All of Pynchon is on my list to read, but any other recs based off of this? I can’t just limit my literary interest to basically Pynchon but I think I’m only really interested in that type of thing and he seems to be the only one who did that type of thing to my knowledge.

You certainly aren’t easing into reading.

Catch-22 by Joseph Heller is an obvious choice.

William Vollman might also interest you, both fiction and non-fiction.

Cloud Atlas by David Mitchell is worth checking out. It definitely falls into the category of books written by somebody flexing their artistic muscles, and Mitchell is absolutely swole.
