Looking for a book similar to the mood of part one. Wintry isolation, loneliness, suffocating monotony. I didn’t care for part two and three as much. Some of my other favorites have been His Dark Materials and the Winternight Trilogy, but aside from the winter settings I don’t think there’s much else in common with the Binding. I don’t go for romance or smut (so part two and three were a surprise for me). It was a random one-off I found on Libby but I really enjoyed the mood of part one.
