So currently in my senior English class we are assigned to read Beartown by Fredrik Backman and it has been mental torture. Every time I open the book and start reading it seems that every line is some cheesy quote like “In Beartown everyone has that bear in them”. The plot barely progresses because every chapter it always gives a 4 page long hockey related backstory to every character. Reading summaries on each chapter is genuinely more thrilling than the actual book.
