To be honest, I’m new into books, you can assume I haven’t read anything. And coming from tv shows, I really like something with a universe, a connected world, which you as a reader explore and get to know all the mysteries. It’s like a detective story, but not about murder, instead about the strange fictional world. Like, a universe where after watching the show you go to youtube so a fan can explain what the hell actually happened.
With tv shows, some examples can be gravity falls (where did all the strange things come from? What are the journals?), adventure time (what is the backstory of characters? How do they end? What are the mystical creatures?). Westworld (first season) comes to mind too, one of the favourites (it was just mind-blowing for me). Also, not from the tv, but hollow knight lore was very interesting for me (although, it was interesting to watch explained, and not trying to understand it from the game)
