As the title I am not a reader of sm*t romances. They make we wanna not read the book at all, a bit of kissing hugging even cuddling is fine. I love fantasy and fiction, does not matter if the couple is straight or gay. I can’t find any good books so your suggestions will be helpful.
I have read six of crows (duology) , so this is ever after etc.

{kit mcbride gets a wife by Amy Barry} hand holding and one very tame make out is as heavy as it gets but I tell you what the tension in them simply brushing fingers did more to me that all the smut I read tbh. It’s a western set in Montana is the early 1800s. 4 brothers and their sister live on a homestead. The sister is the youngest and is sick of doing all the “womens work” so advertises for a wife in the matrimonial newspaper for her brother to marry. Only thing is she dosnt tell the brother! The female lead shows up and hurts her leg on arrival has has to stay to heal. The male lead is determined not to fall into his sisters little trap. The sisters character is 14 and is the first time I’ve found a precious child character entertaining and not annoying. Please read it and tell me what you think!

    2. ‘Call Me By Your Name’ by André Aciman is a book I find myself recommending for its beautiful prose and exploration of desire. The summer romance between Elio and Oliver in Italy is a profound meditation on the intensity of first love and the marks it leaves on our lives.

    3. If you’re okay with older books, anything by Georgette Heyer, particularly Devil’s Cub; Venetia; Sylvester, or the Wicked Uncle; and Cotillion. You could also read classics like Pride and Prejudice (or anything else by Jane Austin), or Jane Eyre.
