I’m not looking for any heavy plots or confusing worldbuilding, and nothing about aliens taking over or whatever. Thanks!

Space travel or exploring space is welcome!

    1. Becky Chambers’ **The Long Way to a Small, Angry Planet** has a construction spaceship crewed with a found-family of multiple species travel across the galaxy to a new job. Most of the plot is interactions between the crew and incidents that happen along the way.

    2. The Space Adventures Of Commander Laine. I loved it and it’s action from cover to cover.

    3. Rhodoreef. This is an indie YA sci-fi retelling of The Little Mermaid. So modern mermaids and lots of fun. Unique underwater world and comes with the author’s own art.

For a more slice-of-life story, check out Komoreby, also from the same author. It’s a high school story with a sci-fi twist.

    4. For a science fiction novel that brilliantly intertwines quantum physics, time travel, and a captivating narrative, ‘Eternal Gods Die Too Soon’ is a must-read. The story takes you on a journey beyond the event horizon of a black hole, exploring the mysteries of the universe in a way that is both intellectually stimulating and deeply engaging.
