Something like the film In the Company of Men or John Fowles’ The Magus. Or even something like A Separate Piece. A novel in which one man is mentally moulded, coerced or manipulated by a friend or just otherwise deeply influenced by someone else’s philosophy. Illusions by Richard Bach would be a more positive example. Not necessarily psychological horror but something dark would be fine.
