I am a huge fan of metafiction – not so much the Easter Egg-side of things, but where a character talks to the author or an author writes a book inside the book sort of thing, maybe even breaking the fourth wall. (‘Misery’ by Stephen King comes to mind that does that.) So my question is: I have mainly encountered a heavier use of this in games, namely in “Alan Wake 2” or “Slay the Princess”, but not in many books. Are there books like that out there and if, any recommendations?
