Suggest me a book (novel or non-fiction) that heavily involves different campaigns and battles in a war.
Hi all. I am reading a Storm of Swords right now and would like to read a book, fiction or non-fiction, that largely deals with a War and the battles and campaigns within it. Thanks in advance.
Okay so it would be a long one but THE CIVIL WAR: A NARRATIVE by Shelby Foote is three volumes worth of battle analysis (and political and social analysis too).
The other big one is, of course, STALINGRAD by Antony Beever

August 1914 by Solzhenitsyn?
the Spanish bride by Georgette Heyer is a meticulously researched “novel” about the duke of Wellington’s campaign to stop Napoleon (the first time, in Spain and Portugal). it’s mostly about Sir Harry Smith and his wife Juana, but the army and the campaign itself both play a significant role.
