Someone close to me is wanting to read some romance but they’ve been burned by a lot of ‘enemies to lovers’ or just a lot of the book focusing on the characters being jerks to one another or ‘on and off and on and off’. So on so forth.
She’d like a story where the drama of the story essentially comes from outside the relationship and its the characters coming together to face it and are good friends. (Friends to lovers if you will)

Heaven Official’s Blessing by Mo Xiang Tong Xiu
It is a translated Chinese novel but its fairly popular so should be accessible. It is an OTP bl romance. It is a massive slow burn but the relationship that develops between the two is a fun development.
