Hi everyone
I am looking for the best books from Kyrgyzstan for the Read the World challenge over at r/bookclub. The book can be any length, and genre but it must be set or partially set in Kyrgyzstan. Preferably the author should be from Kyrgyzstan, or at least currently residing in Kyrgyzstan or has been a resident of Kyrgyzstan in the past. I’m looking for the “if I could only ever read one book from Kyrgyzstan which book should it be” type suggestions. The book must be available in English translation
Thanks in Advance

The Day Lasts More Than A Hundred Years by Chingiz Aitmatov
I just read, about 20 minutes ago, in From the Wall to the Water by William Han that the most famous Chinese poet of all time (“the Pushkin of China”), Li Bai, was born in Suiye in Kyrgyzstan.
One excellent book from Kyrgyzstan that fits your criteria is {{The White Ship by Chinghiz Aitmatov}}
