An actual palate cleanser serves to remove food residue and heavy flavors from your tongue. Water works, but is tasteless, so often a good chef will work tirelessly to compose a course that not only prepares you for what’s in store next, but also excites ones palate for what’s to come, while offering an intriguing flavor all its own.
I enjoy reading philosophy and literary fiction mostly. Usually use light sci-fi as a palate cleanser, but I’m looking to expand my horizons, and I’m deep into simulateously reading Deleuze and Solenoid by Mircea Cărtărescu, and really feel like I will need something light when I’m done.
However as I stated above, I’m not looking for water. Any suggestions for lighter fare that still packs a little something extra?
