    Hi

I’m currently in a period where I’m reading book classics. And right now I’m mostly into books which can make you smile or laugh.

Just read Catch 22 and I loved it so much that just when I finished it I directly went to start on the audiobook, haha. Earlier read the first part of Hitchhiker which was really great too.

Before Catch 22 I read Slaughterhouse 5, but I didn’t find quite as funny at all.

Also read Tortilla Flat and Cannary Row 1 & 2 by Steinbeck. Loved these.

So I’m looking for some recommendations for some classcis in the same genre. Thanks in advance.

Thank you for Smoking and Thats no way to treat a first lady were both really good. Laughed out loud reading both

    2. For Vonnegut cats cradle is a lot funnier and more satirical imo, slaughterhouse 5 is a lot of him processing war trauma which is hard to make light of.

I’d check out White Noise by Don DeLillo as well it’s a great satire of academia and lots of modern aspects of American culture, it feels very accurate to today even though it was written 40 years ago.

People also really like The Sellout by Paul Beatty, I’ve yet to read it but it’s on my list and is supposed to be hilarious if you can take it.

    3. Cold Comfort Farm by Stella Gibbons is a funny classic. Oreo by Fran Ross and After Claude by Iris Owens are two funny novels from the ’70s that aren’t necessarily “classics” but I’m going to recommend ’em anyway because they deserve love
