I’m looking for some books to read that are (ideally) told in the first person, deal with parent child relationships, are written in a way that justifies the actions (or inactions) of either the parent or the child, and delves (though not necessarily directly) with the psychology of complex family relationships.
Ideally, the relationship would include past trauma. Conflicting points of view. And a tragic ending where the narrator or main character doesn’t find the kind of resolution they claim to be looking for.
Thanks for any suggestions

Less Than by AD Long! Pretty much everything you’ve described, but written in close 3rd person
