Looking for a historical fiction, but like, for the girlies. Not too serious but not straight up romance. Think the likes of Daisy Jones/Evelyn Hugo/Malibu Rising by TJR, City of Girls by Elizabeth Gilbert, Valley of the Dolls by Jacqueline Susann. Not picky about the time period! Anything between 1920-1990s would be fair game.

I loved City of Girls too. I just started The Magnificent Lives of Marjorie Post by Allison Pataki and I think it fits your bill perfectly. And Great Circle by Maggie Shipstead! One of my favorites – two parallel stories, one in the past about a famous female aviator, and one in the present about the actress playing the aviator in a movie.
