Hi.
I’ve got 4 Audible credits to spend before I can cancel my subscription, and I have 2 specific genres in mind that I’d love suggestions for.
1. My favourite book of all time is The Little Prince, and I’d love something that has a similar feeling of magic. Not in a literal sense – I’m not big on traditional fantasy – but just something that leaves you feeling like life is magic and beautiful and meaningful, you know?
2. I’d like something about the apocalypse. Not sci-fi post-apocalypse, but something set, at least in part, during the actual apocalypse, with heavy realism. If you’ve ever seen the horrific film Threads, that’s the sort of tone I’m after. Bonus points if it’s nuclear! ☢️
Thanks!

The Road by Cormac McCarthy is pretty dang good for an apocalyptic novel. Very real, very dismal.
For #2, you might try David R. Palmer’s *Emergence.* It’s out of print, but you should be able to find it in a library.
