Similar books to Kingsbridge Series

I loved the Kingsbridge series by Ken Follet and would love to know if anyone has read any historical fiction that is similar. Bonus points if it takes place in the European Middle Ages/Renaissance!
I’ve also read and enjoyed Cathedral of the Sea by Ildefonso Falcones and Year of Wonders by Geraldine Brooks.
