Hi everyone! I feel like I’ve been reading a lot of books recently that are either nonfiction, or more plot-focused one-offs and I’m ready to obsess over fictional characters again!

The last book (series) I read where I *really* fell in love with the cast was probably Captive Prince, and I got close with both Gwen and Art are not in Love and The Darker Shades of Magic books.

I’m partial to fantasy books, but am open to pretty much anything! Including series! Thanks all and happy reading

The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue by VE Schwab. Both the protagonist and antagonist were so captivating. Fantasy historical fiction with an amazing plot.

    2. It’s a recent read so maybe that’s why she’s sticking with me, but I really related to Chrisjen Avasarala from *Caliban’s War.* Gets. Shit. Done. And her pain and goodness that compelled her.

      ETA: last sentence

    3. The Space Adventures Of Commander Laine. The commander, Alex, Zara, Nixxa, Venus, Tabby, there awesome characters. If you don’t fall in love with them within the first 75 pages I don’t know what to tell a person

    4. Any and every Wildbow book (Worm, Ward, Twig, Pact, Pale) The Locked Tomb, Piranesi, This Is How You Lose the Time War are my brainrot books. They all have characters that I’m just always thinking about

    5. The Raven Cycle series by Maggie Stiefvater. I think about Ronan (and Gansey) (and Adam) (and Blue) like they’re my roman empire

    6. Abercrombie’s First Law trilogy has amazing characters: Glotka, Jezal, Ardee, Dogman, Ninefingers… I’m not even the biggest fantasy buff but these were some of the best characters I ever read.

*Coming Up for Air* by George Orwell. It’s the internal monologue of just this shitty nothing guy. One of those people who’s smart but also unfathomably stupid, you know the type? I read this book eight years ago and he still pisses me off. And I kind of love that this imaginary person was so well-written that I still have strong feelings about him.
