As title itself suggests, I want to read books other than American authors (I have read some from Murakami, some from Matt Haig).
I am into humour, laughs or decent romantic novel (not teenage love)
However whenever I write a post about book suggestions I only get directed to American authors why is that?
I want to read authors from different geographical regions like India, South America, Europe and many more!
I somehow feel that majority of the readers here only read American authors, is it due to marketing of Amercian novels or some ki d of superiority in literature?
I appreciate your assistance in advance and I look forward to unheard gems.
Edit: No personal attack, please, just that I want to experience writings on different geographical levels, how people have different thinking , and different experiences. It’s not about English speakers or how well they write grammatically or word wise. *It’s about life in the woods*

I’d start with books that were candidates for major literary prizes based outside the US. I’ve found some authors I really like by looking at the Booker Prize long list, for example.
America has the most English speakers and writers and readers of any country in the world by a very large margin and we aggressively market and export and share our opinions on the internet. So no mystery there.

Maybe check out The Rosie Project by Graeme Simsion, who is Australian and therefore not American.
