I love Tolkien and I’m looking for suggestions of similar works that are adventurous but also wholesome. Fantasy does appeal greatly to me, especially if there is some kind of magical tree that is integral to the story (rules the realms or something of that nature).
I’m not overly fond of romance. Certainly not seeking any smut!

Terry Brooks might suit; the Shannara series, starts with The Sword of Shannara. …he’s not a ‘great’ writer like Tolkien but he’s very readable, and it’s the same sort of material; quests, wizards, elves, etc. I can’t remember which book, but one of them does indeed feature a powerful tree, sacred to the elves, which has to be protected and without which the elves will die [or something!]
I’ve read all of them and he does quests very well, and also the impact of ‘evil’ magic. Worth a look anyway!
