I recommended numerous books to him, such as “The Kite Runner,” “A Thousand Splendid Suns,” “Mountains Echo,” etc. What I anticipated hearing was expressions like, “They are eye-opening for me,” or “I was moved to tears after finishing the book; it touched my soul,” but what I received was, “They are too cringingly dramatic.” I mean, what on earth? He also didn’t appreciate “One Hundred Years of Solitude.” What should I suggest to him? He mentioned that the best book he has read to date is “Animal Farm.” Please provide recommendations for books he might enjoy.
