I recently read Wicked Saints and while it was a pretty bad book overall, it had the ingredients for what I’d like in a book.
-Female MC (Although not a requirement)
-Dark romance (bonus for love triangles or enemies to lovers)
-Lovecraftian horror/monsters
-Book series, not a standalone
-None or little smut (hot and heavy is fine, some sex fine, but I don’t enjoy reading straight smut)
I’d like something a bit more sophisticated than a standard YA. Looking for recommendations that are NOT grishaverse/shadow and bone. I haven’t read them but unfortunately I know the plot and ending.

Mistborn by Brandon Sanderson might suit you. It’s a horror/fantasy/mystery series compromised of 3 books with a female main character. The romance doesn’t really start properly until book 2, but it’s alluded to and somewhat built into book 1 as she gets to know people and make allies. From book 2 all the way until the end of book 3 the relationship is a major factor; yhey make decisions together, fight together, etc. It’s “young adult” in that they realized they could technically list it as such later on without issue for a double dip into a new market, but it’s not traditional YA. It’s very much a full, adult novel series.
It’s not a perfect recommendation, so sorry for that. Hopefully it helps while you’re waiting for a better rec.
Edit: There’s some romantic tension and angst as well considering who she ends up being with, and what it represents. Though it’s not *quite* enemies to lovers. But it’s not allies to lovers.
