i really hope this is the right place to ask!!

i’m relocating somewhere for a bit less than a year and need to pack up my books for long-term storage. i don’t have a library of books, but i own a few boxes worth and they are all very dear to me, so i want to make sure they’re comfortable and safe while i’m away.

i have some colourful acid-free tissue paper that i thought i’d line the boxes with, then wrap around 3-5 paperbacks in it and stack them lying down until full. id individually wrap each hardcover (i don’t have many, and they’re older and more fragile than my other books) and maybe place them upright in the free spaces? or would they be better off lying down too? i’m going off what tips i’ve read online but hoping someone could give me advice if i’m doing something wrong, or if there are better ways to store books. if there are any experienced book packers out there, please share your knowledge!!
