Hello lovely people!
I’ve recently become disabled due to a neurological condition. As I spend most of my time either sitting in my bed or sitting in a chair, I wish to spend my time reading more books.
My reading languages are: English, Spanish & Italian. I’ve been learning Mandarin for a couple of years, but I’m not at a level where I can read a novel yet.
I’m an engineering student taking a semester off from school due to my disability. So, anything math or science related is acceptable. I also enjoy reading both non fiction and fiction. I’ll take novels, poetry, etc. I’m not picky about the genre.
Thank you!

I hope I can suggest my sci-fi series starter, Torth [Majority](https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CBSYV8ZY).
I read a ton… I’ll throw in a few more you might like:
Paranoid Mage by Inadvisably Compelled
A Deepness in the Sky by Vernor Vinge
If you’re open to middle grade, my favorite series is Nevermoor by Jessica Townsend! It’s been translated into a bunch of languages, so you can probably take your pick of whichever you want 🙂
And if you’re open to very very long books, I recommend The Hands of the Emperor by Victoria Goddard! I love how heavily it focuses on platonic relationships.
Neither are particularly math or engineering focused, but I’m a software engineer myself, and I enjoy them both, if that counts for something 😆
How about *The Calculating Stars* by Mary Robinette Kowal? It is an alternative history/hard sci-fi novel about space engineering.
*Babel* by R. F. Kuang could be really interesting for someone learning Mandarin, although it doesn’t have much of a connection to math or engineering.
Have you read Terry Pratchett? Start with Mort or Going Postal.
The Maniac by Benjamín Labatut is about John von Neumann, so it should be right up your alley. I haven’t read it yet, but I’ve heard only good things about it
a game of thrones series
