Preferably of the sci-fi/speculative fiction genre. Think the first 400 pages of “priory of the orange tree,” but instead, it’s more focused on science fiction and a futuristic world. Thank you!

Genesis echo by d. Hollis anderson – first 100 pages are intensive world building then you can’t put the book down after that. Also has 2 strong female protagonists – starts off on a dystopian earth then they’re flung out into space – genesis-echo.com
