I have just recently started reading “Sapiens” and it is FASCINATING, while also being a relatively easy read. I also enjoyed “Astrophysics for People in a Hurry” and “Starry Messenger” by Neil DeGrasse Tyson, as well as “History of the World in Six Glasses” by Tom Standage and “1491” by Charles Mann. I enjoy these books because they are super informative, without coming across like text books that would be assigned for a college course. I love history (specifically prehistory, or Native American history), and astrophysics a LOT. But, I am not limiting myself to just those two subjects. If you have a nonfiction educational book, that reads in a much more accessible manner, please do suggest them for me.

Maybe try A Short History of Nearly Everything by Bill Bryson. I found myself constantly looking new things up that this book touched on. It was a great experience for me.
Since you like Native American history and astrophysics, I can recommend *Living the Sky: The Cosmos of the American Indian* by Ray A. Williamson.
