My go to rec for people who want to get (back) into reading is Holes by Louis Sachar, because it appeals to all ages, has really short chapters, and is super engaging! I haven’t read it recently enough to consider it a favorite (though I plan to!), but it’s my mom’s favorite, and she recently recommended it to my friend who was fairly skeptical, but my friend then texted me a week after borrowing it to say that we were right, that it was amazing 😆
