20M. I’m studying abroad in Denmark (not necessarily asking for a danish book but open to it) so while it may seem contradictory, my days are packed but I also have some free time. I feel like this is the perfect time in my life to try and get into reading. I’ve never really been interested. I was never diagnosed with ADHD or anything but I feel like it only takes hold when I try to read. A few pages in and I zone out, start paying attention to something else, or realize that I didn’t internalize anything I just read. I’m really open to anything. I’ve been recommended a lot of business or self help books, which are intriguing, but they all just seem a bit scammy and not worth the time (let alone not interesting enough to capture my attention). But if you guys know a really good one, I’d love to try. My goal is to read 30 minutes a day. It’s been literal YEARS since I’ve finished a book. YEARS. My parents always commented about it. They were very displeased.
Please send suggestions. I think I might be leaning more towards an intriguing and entertaining book where I feel like I’ve learned something — so I feel productive — but I’m also open to fiction too. Also if it’s a popular book that would be helpful so I can get an English version while still abroad.
Thanks guys
