My mother (born in France) told me the story of a french writer named “Jules Verne” who wrote “amazing” books about machines and adventure in unknown lands (as a geography fan this caught my attention)
Also, I searched about him in Wikipedia and I discovered shocking things about this man like the fact that he predicted multiple inventions like submarines or helicopters!
He also has thousands of things named after him!: a Disneyland attraction, a ship, a crater, a restaurant, a university! and has two cities full of monuments dedicated to him (Amiens and Nantes, both in France)
Bu I dont want to talk about that (despite being a great fan of eponyms and spotting literature easter eggs on my daily life), I want to talk about his books, and they are the most amazing thing I saw in my 17 years of life despite the fact they were written in the 19th century, he has books about:
* Travelling the entire world in 80 days (*Le Tour du monde en quatre-vingts jours*)
* Travelling the unknown parts of the sea (*Vingt Mille Lieues sous les mers*)
* Discovering prehistoric creatures (*Voyage au centre de la Terre*)
* Ballon travels (*Cinq semaines en ballon*)
* Going to the moon (Multiple books)
I think that any reader interested in travelling should read his books, I think he could be an inspiration to a lot of people.
My mother gave me two of his books and I will try to read them, if he has two cities dedicated to him his writing should be good.
