What are books you’d recommend everyone to read? I’m an avid fantasy/ romance reader (100+ books in those categories in 2023) I love these genres but they’re pretty specific in terms of reader interest/community. I don’t feel like I can discuss these books in depth with my friend group and I’m looking to change that! I would love book recommendations that I can bring up in casual conversation that are relatable and would suggest to everyone.

    1. The Queen’s Gambit By: Walter Tevis – I read it probably a decade ago, but it came back around to the public with the Netflix series a few years ago.

Same thing with Phillip Pullman’s His Dark Materials Series. It’s technically YA, but it’s honestly one of my fav series of all time – and they made a tv series of it so more people can talk about it too.

*This is your mind on plants* by Michael Pollan will certainly be relatable to anyone who drinks caffeine.
