I’m after a book about someone slowly getting better and improving their mental health e.g. slowly recovering from trauma.
There’s so much media out there where a person just has to realise what they are doing wrong and then there’s a montage and then they are an entirely different person. I want a book that’s the opposite of that, where the main character makes lots of small steps to improvement and being happier, and there are setbacks that they have to overcome but overall they are just generally improving.
Long road to a small angry planet is a good example, (and a fantastic book!) but I would like more emphasis on the characters internal process.
