I don’t feel like I like a specific genre of book which makes it challenging for me to find new ones. Some of the books I have read and enjoyed lately are:
    11/22/63
    Project Hail Mary
    Dark Matter
    Fairy Tail
    City of Thieves
A lot of books by David Sedaris
    Into the Wild
In the Heart of the Sea

I also tried hitchhikers guide to the galaxy and couldn’t finish it. I just did not find the randomness of it all that humorous personally. I also tried the dark tower series by stephen king and was also unable to finish.

I feel like my list of lately enjoyed books is random but hopefully someone has a recommendation, thanks!

    1. I always recommend that people start The Dark Tower with Drawing of the Three because The Gunslinger is just a weird book. Read them side by side to make the former more palatable.

If you want a non-fiction that is as exciting as any novel I’ve read, check out The Desert and the Sea by Michael Scott Moore. It’s about a journalist who was captured and held hostage by Somali pirates for over two years.

    2. The Saxon Tales (aka last Kingdom) series by Bernard Cornell sucked me in right away. And there are 13 books.

It’s first person so for me it makes for a nice audiobook because (especially in this case) it takes the form of someone telling you their story.

    3. ReddisaurusRex on

Malibu Burning by Lee Goldberg – power through the prologue and then it should pick up and not stop until the end 🙂

    4. Far-Blackberry-7129 on

Taylor Jenkins Reid books, Ruth Ware mysteries, The Giver of Stars by Jojo Moyes
