I just finished this year’s Newbery Medal winner, The Eyes and the Impossible by David Eggers.
Am I missing something? I thought the book was very shallow, with lackluster characters, an absence of logic, no dramatic plots or questions. But it won the Newbery and seems to get mostly positive reviews online.
I think it would have been a great picture book, with about 100 pages cut off.
Any thoughts?
