I would like to begin reading more novels. I read nonfiction almost exclusively – memoirs, history, true crime, sports. But I’m struggling to find something I want to read right now and am looking to expand the pool. I’ve read a lot of the classics: Dickens, Waugh, Steinbeck, the Brontes, Twain, even War and Peace. I’ve read a few more modern offerings like Tom Perotta and Nick Hornsby and I’ve read A Gentleman in Moscow and loved it. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Down and Out in Paris and London by George Orwell. It’s semi autobiographical, a look into being poor in those cities in the 1920s or so
