I’ve recently read All the Light We Cannot See and The Book Thief. Both of these books (more specifically ATLWCS) are written in a way where each word seems to feel like poetry and art. Each page is crafted so methodically and beautifully. I’m looking for a book with a great story but also great writing like these books. It doesn’t have to be historical fiction either.

I came here to recommend All the Light We Cannot See. Haha
A Psalm for the Wild Built
Hamnet by Maggie O’Farrell
The Continuous Katherine Mortenhoe by D. G. Compton.
The Road by Cormac McCarthy has some of the most flowery descriptions of death and destruction I’ve ever had the pleasure of reading. Honestly, anything McCarthy would work.
I’m currently reading Something Wicked This Way Comes by Ray Bradbury and that’s very well written too.
