I absolutely loved Black Mirror on Netflix, specifically season 1. Also Love, Death, and Robots. I’m not looking for a short story type of book, although recommendations like that are welcomed. I’m just trying to find a crazy mind fu*k of a book that will have me thinking about it for years to come, just like Black Mirror season 1 did. I’m currently reading a “litrpg” book called “Kaiju Battlefield Surgeon” and it has that flavor, but I don’t think I care much for the video game type stuff. Also, worth mentioning, I love horror- so that can be considered. Please, gods of Reddit, drop me some 🔥 recommendations!!

Ken Liu’s short novel collection: The Paper Menagerie. One of Love Death and Robots’ episode is based on one of the novels !
Made for Love by Alyssa Nutting
House of Stairs by William Sleator
Everything You Ever Wanted by Luiza Sauma
The Dinner by Herman Koch
Love both of those shows! Michael Crichton is one of my favorite authors and a lot of his books feel like a black mirror episode to me. He writes sci-fi and techno-thrillers so it’s very much like Black Mirror in the way of “what would happen if humans took technology too far”
Some examples:
Prey,
Sphere,
Andromeda Strain,
Terminal Man,
Westworld,
Jurassic Park
