    Could you suggest me some books from countries in the middle east asia , countries from Europe (apart from uk), countries from south east Asia. I really want to diversify my reading list because it feels like I have been stuck reading the same kind of books about the same kind of things and people over and over again. I would like to try something different.

    So please write me some book recommendations , they could be based on these above countries or could be written by authors from there. Preferably fiction.

      The Kite Runner, A Thousand Splendid Suns by Khaled Hosseini (Middle East Asia – Afghanistan)

      The Phantom of the Opera by Gaston Leroux (French)

      The Shadow of the Wind by Carlos Ruiz Zafon (Spanish)

      Fredrik Backman (Swedish) – all his books are pretty awesome imho

      Under the Tuscan Sun by Frances Mayes, and A Year In Provence by Peter Mayle – the authors are American and British but the books (a bit similar in style) are based in Italy and France.

      The God of Small Things by Arundhati Roy (Southeast Asia – India)

    3. Batu and the Search for the Golden Cup by Zira Nauryzbai and Lilya Kalaus is from Kazakhstan.

      Queen of the Tiles by Hanna Alkaf is Malaysian.

    4. The blind owl by Sadegh Hedayat

      The prophet by Kahlil Gibran

      All quiet on the western front by Erich Maria Remarque

      The murderess by Papadiamantis

    5. “Angels Of The Universe” by Einar Már Guðmundsson or “Independent People” by Halldór Laxness. (Iceland 🇮🇸)
