In France there was a pilot named Antoine de Saint-Exupéry who was also a writer.
He wrote multiple books about aviation like *Courrier sud* and *Vol de nuit* that are about his experiences working as a pilot for a mail company, if you like this kind of stories about flying I reccomend Saint-Exupéry.
But that isnt the sad story, this story starts when Antoine’s plane crashes in the Sahara desert, and there he finds a little boy who came from another planet where he lived with a rose.
The pilot ended up being his friend, and the story ended up being written in a book named *Le Petit Prince* which for me is the most sad book I know because its very philosophical and will very probably make you cry.
Despite the author not being very famous (the majority of my friends dont know him) the story has a lot of inspirational quotes about life and other things that makes this book worth reading for me.
I read this book a lot of years ago and it was so important that I gave it to my younger cousins because it changes the way you see life.
I reccomend this book, specially for children.

The little prince is well worth reading, it’s a classic.
At least here in Sweden I think most people at least know about the book.
Saint Exupery and the Little Prince are quite famous. Only the Bible has been translated into more languages. Nearly 150 million copies have been sold worldwide.
Why are you acting like The Little Prince is some sort of obscure book?
I own it in English, Spanish, and German.
There used to be a tiny cafe in Lisbon’s Bairro Alto called Le Petit Prince Cafe Couture, completely devoted to this book. Along the wall were copies in every language, along with lots of other related material. Sadly, it closed during the depths of covid.
Saint Exupéry is quite famous both in France and internationally. In France there numerous high schools and schools named after him. And I people from several non French speaking countries who lived “le petit prince” some had collections of petit princes merch and some had tatoos of quotes. The artwork has been turned into so many different objects from mugs to pillows.
Granted we are not talking Harry potter fame but it is also not an unknown writer.
Widespread Panic has a song about it – Saint Ex
